Please enjoy this Veterans Day art from Mr. Prebul's Kindergarten class, created in Mrs. Jenning's Art Class. Thank you, Veterans!

Veterans Day originated as “Armistice Day” on 11-11-19, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. In 1926, it became an annual observance, and it became a national holiday in 1938. Thank you to our staff, alumni, parents, and community members who have served our country.

In honor of Veterans Day, Westerly creates an Honor Wall in the main hallway called "Our 'STARS’ in the Fight for Freedom.” Each student receives a "STAR" that can be filled out by their family and turned in to be displayed so their Veteran can be recognized.

Thank you to Army Veterans the Amigos for reading to our first- and second-graders today in honor of Veterans Day. Thank you for your service.

Thank you for your service, Iraq Army Veteran Mr. Donaldson, who read to first-grade classes today with his daughter Ella proudly by his side.

Please enjoy these photos of the Stars at Normandy School as we celebrate and honor Veterans! These stars represent Normandy family members who are Veterans.

Mr. David Shah, a Marines Veteran with three students in the district, including daughter Riley, read to kindergarteners today as part of Normandy's week-long celebration that honors and recognizes Veterans. Thank you for your service, Mr. Shah!

Mr. Jim Riley, an Army Veteran (and Coco's Grandpa!) read to second-graders yesterday as part of Normandy's week-long celebration that honors and recognizes Veterans. Thank you for your service, Mr. Riley!

The Normandy Second-grade Afterschool Club (moderated by Anne Hart and Gabrielle Abraham) is collecting Halloween candy for alumni serving in the Military, and making cards for Veterans in local hospitals. #BeProudToBeBay

Army Veteran Mr. Roger Warrender (Wyatt’s grandpa!) read to second-grade classes yesterday as part of Normandy School's weeklong recognition of Veterans. Thank you for your service, Mr. Warrender, and to your wife, too, who is also an Army Veteran!

Westerly families were invited to send in family photos for a Veterans Day video slideshow that is shared with all Westerly classrooms and families. Thank you, Weston Wolves for honoring your family members who served our country! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZek9GDFHps

When you head to your precincts today to vote, you may see some of these faces at your polling stations. These BHS students are newly trained poll workers. Student civic participation and bridging generational gaps...it's a beautiful thing. #BeProudToBeBay

A friendly reminder that TODAY, Tuesday, November 7th is a day off school for students. It's a Professional Work Day for our staff, and it's also Election Day. Glenview is open but no SEED.
Don't forget to vote!
