Bay Village Schools Honors Veterans Day

Veterans Day image

Saturday, November 11, 2023, was Veterans Day, and our Bay Village City School District had numerous events and activities planned the week leading up to Veterans Day to honor those who have served -- whether they live in the community, are part of our faculty/staff or are grandparents (or great-grandparents) who are no longer with us. From an assembly with resident Veterans to how to properly fold a flag to Honor Walls, click here to learn about all the ways Bay Village Schools honored its Veterans.

The Disco Family

The Disco Family is a military-connected family in Bay Village Schools.

"Our family was transferred to Cleveland in 2012. We began as renters, here in Bay. It didn't take long for us to take notice of the Bay Village City School District’s child-centered approach. Hands down, the best school system our family has attended, in the country, no exaggeration."

Board of Ed Passes Resolution to Support Military Families

On Monday, October 25, 2021, the Bay Village Board of Education passed a Resolution in Support of Military-connected Children and Families. The initiative realizes there are many military-connected families within Bay Village, and the goal is to provide them with the support and resources they need, to eventually become an official Purple Star school district, as recognized by the Ohio Department of Education.

Military Parent Feedback

"Speaking for just our small Coast Guard family, we appreciate the Bay Village Board of Education's attention to the unique challenges that military families face. The significant periodic upheavals and many of the daily burdens of service are shouldered by the children and spouses of military members, but we truly appreciate the support we have received from so many here in Bay Village. Drawing awareness to those unique challenges will enhance the experiences of our fellow military families who join the Bay community in the years to come, and will ensure Bay Village remains a place that is welcoming to all who serve."

~Brett McCall, Lieutenant Commander, U.S. Coast Guard
