The Bay Village City School District is committed to delivering a high-quality curriculum and instructional program to our students. All students have access to effective teachers and to the same content, knowledge and skills to experience success in school. Our commitment is that not only are all students given the accessibility to the curriculum, but also to ensure teachers are given enough time to teach to mastery.

In accordance with board policy 2510, we formally review each subject or content area in our school district every five years. This process is important to ensure our curriculum reflects current research, drives best instructional practice, and meets the needs of our students and teachers.

Curriculum revision involves examining and updating what we teach, how students demonstrate mastery, making certain state and national standards are completely integrated, and that a consistent content flow occurs from grade level to grade level.

During the curriculum revision process, instructional materials are discussed and approved as needed. In addition, an important component of the curriculum revision process is to determine how technology can be integrated into the curriculum to enhance student learning and engagement.

A typical curriculum review will take at least a full school year; upon conclusion of this process, the Board of Education is asked to approve any revisions to our curriculum. Feel free to contact me should you have questions regarding our curriculum.
