On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, Bay Village residents voted overwhelmingly to support Bay Village City School District's Permanent Improvement Levy, which will fund the Facilities for the Future Plan.

The new, no tax increase Permanent Improvement Levy will generate funds to pay for building improvements, technology, textbooks and transportation, with no increase in taxes for Bay Village residents. Please click here for more information.

Inaugural Facilities Core Team Meeting

Discussion Topics:

• Roadmap: Outline a sequential timeline inclusive of key dates leading up to the start of construction in June of 2026.

• Financing: Understand the project's scope and timeline to explain how the construction timeline planning coincides with the financing process.

• Initial Testing: Discuss necessary initial tests, including surveys, abatement and soil tests. Test results will inform the design process.

• Project Sequencing: Begin to determine the priority and order of the projects to be completed.

OVERVIEW: The Facilities Core Team announced the St. Barnabas lease has been approved, and committee members will meet at Bethesda on December 19, 2025. Design development on the high school additions is progressing, and the team reviewed the intent of the additional interior renovation scope at BHS. Administrative floor plans for BHS, Normandy and Westerly were refined for this meeting. Initial floor plan studies for Glenview have begun. Field visits are being done by engineers, using existing drawings. Next up: Revisions to Normandy and Westerly admin areas, design development continues for BHS, NES and WES, Glenview floor plan options, and asbestos and geotechnical surveying being done over winter break.

OVERVIEW: The meeting reviewed roadmap progress, financial milestones, code compliance and construction status across the Glenview, Normandy and Bay High projects. Foundational work should begin at Glenview within 7-10 days. 

GPD provided an update on Glenview, including comments about life safety systems. Shook Construction said they have finalized details for the Normandy structural division, and that work will take place September 18-19 to avoid classroom disruption. At Bay High, the concrete floor was being poured by the arch area. Shook is also in the process of finalizing numbers for the second and final Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for Glenview.
