Five BMS writers traveled to Ashland University to compete at the Power of the Pen State Tournament. Congrats to State Writers Charlotte Colman, Oona Louis, Penny Herman , Sam Vardon & Lily Young. Oona & Lily received Platinum Pen Awards, and Charlotte & Sam were named to the Top 52 Final Round.

Congrats to Bay Middle School 7th grader Cody Knaack, who placed 1st in the Discus at the recent OHSAA Middle School Track & Field State Meet, AND 2nd in the Shot Put! Cody is the first Middle School State Champion in Track & Field for Bay!

Memorial Day, formerly Decoration Day, started being observed after the Civil War. It became an official federal holiday in 1971. Memorial Day is observed the last Monday of May, and is an opportunity to honor military personnel who died while serving in the U.S. military.
