Outside Recognition

The district consistently earns much recognition and many awards, both locally and nationally:

  • Designated a Best Community in Music Education in America since 2003.

  • Westerly Elementary was named a U.S. Blue Ribbon School in 2015.

  • Bay High School was named a U.S. Blue Ribbon School in 2010.

  • Named among the Top 15 school districts in Cleveland Magazine's annual Rating the Suburbs issue for at least the past decade.

  • Throughout the past decade Bay High has been named to Newsweek's Best High Schools in America List (top 5 percent in U.S.) and has been listed as one of U.S. News and World Report's Best High Schools in America, putting it in their top 2% of high school rankings.

  • District earned three Harvard Business Club of NE Ohio awards for school management.

  • Bay Village Schools have received the SchoolMatch "What Parents Want" award annually for almost two decades -- an important referral service used by companies relocating their employees.

  • District earned one of the highest bond ratings available to school districts, an Aa2 rating, from Moody’s Investors Service.

  • The district has earned the Ohio Auditor of State's Award for "clean" financial audits for many years.
