
Glenview Center's third-grade after care program enjoyed a late May walk to Dairy Queen to enjoy a sweet treat and celebrate their B.A.Y. Awards, where students earn stars in the categories of: Be Respectful, Act Safely, and You and I can accept responsibility and one another.


Before summer break, Mrs. Hart's second-grade class had a Beach Day! They had a great time doing their work on beach towels and doing beach-related activities throughout the day.

The summer solstice happens tonight, June 20 at 10:41 p.m. Today is the first day of summer and the longest day of the year, which occurs when the sun crosses its highest and northernmost points in the sky. It's also the most sunlight we will receive all year. Enjoy!


Today we celebrate Juneteenth, commemorating the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans. Juneteenth facts: 1.) The holiday originated in Galveston, TX, & has been celebrated in other parts of the US since 1865. 2.) This day was first recognized as a federal holiday in 2021.

In May, third-graders went to the Ohio History Center at Western Reserve Historical Center. Students engaged in active learning about immigrants and refugees by learning about real families that came to Cleveland. They looked at historical maps and explored some of the exhibits.

Recently, Westerly students Samantha Butler & Layne Howard, who play on the 2015 Force team were crowned Great Lakes Alliance Champions. They beat the the #1 team and won the championship!
