Daily Announcements Thursday 10/05/23
From the Desk of Robert Grossman: Bay High Student Council is presenting a civic engagement event on Thursday, Oct 5 (TODAY!) during QRP (in LAB D of the BHS Library). Cuyahoga County Executive and Bay High Alum, Chris Ronayne will be here to discuss the importance of community involvement and civic engagement. In addition, all attendees that will be 18 or older by November 7 will be given the opportunity to register to vote in the November 7 election. In order to attend, students will need a pass. Passes are available from Mr. Grossman in Room 220.
This Sunday, October 8th, Bay High School Key Club will be sponsoring a Walk for Water. This event is the kickoff to a year of fundraising for the Thirst Project, a non-profit that builds water wells in Southern Africa for those who do not have access to clean water. The walk will begin and end at the high school and take place throughout the community for 3.75 miles, simulating the distance people without water go daily to gather dirty water. Key Club invites everyone to come out with their families, friends, and dogs to support them in their efforts anytime from 8am-7pm this Sunday, rain or shine.
From the Desk of Alexis Dugan:
Are you interested in playing softball? We will be having a very brief informational meeting on October 12th at 3:30 pm in Room 203. If you are unable to attend but are still interested, please see Coach Dugan in Room 203.

Science Night is Monday, Oct. 30th!
Many volunteers are needed to make this fun night happen. 5 Science classrooms and the library will be decorated for Halloween! Students model fun science demonstrations in areas of optics, electromagnetism, chemistry, mechanics, pressure, density, and thermodynamics. Students and families from Glenview, Normandy, and Westerly come through to enjoy our themed science night from 6-8:30 pm! It's a fun way to demonstrate your science enthusiasm, inspire future scientists, and earn NHS service hours! There are a lot of different ways to participate. Please see Mr. Clifford or Mrs. Sutterlin to sign up. We need all of the volunteers we can get for this fun night. It gets bigger every year. You do not need to be a member of the Science Club for this event. All are welcome! Volunteers will attend a planning/practice meeting on Monday, Oct. 23rd after school in Room 206. This is an important meeting for all volunteers.
