BMS 6th graders visited Cleveland Museum of Art to see the art & cultures they studied in Social Studies with Mrs. Guinter & Mrs. Randjelovic--Ancient China, Ancient India, Mesopotamia, Egypt and 5 World Religions. They also saw works from artists they studied in Art Class.




The summer solstice happens today, June 20, at 4:51 p.m. Today is the first day of summer and the longest day of the year, which occurs when the sun crosses its highest and northernmost points in the sky. Today marks the most sunlight we will receive all year. Enjoy!


Today we celebrate Juneteenth, commemorating the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans. Juneteenth facts: The holiday originated in Galveston, TX, and has been celebrated in other parts of the US since 1865. This day was first recognized as a federal holiday in 2021.

Today, we celebrate Flag Day! Flag Day factoids: 1. Old Glory commemorates the adoption of the U.S. flag on June 14, 1777. 2. Since 1777, the design of the flag has been officially modified 26 times. 3. Robert G. Heft, at age 17, of Ohio designed the 50-star American flag.

Many of our music teachers perform all over the region, including Orchestra Director Mrs. Carrie Singler with the jazz sextet Prism. She was recently surprised when some of her BMS jazz students came to hear her play in Akron. #BeProudToBeBay
