At tonight's Board Meeting, the Board of Education recognized Bay Middle School Math Teacher Mr. Mark Kevesdy, who was recently named "Citizen of the Year" by Bay Village Community Council. Mr. Kevesdy has been integral in the Walk for Amy memorial walk and run. Congrats!

In the Christian tradition, Palm Sunday is the first day of Holy Week and the Sunday before Easter. In ancient times, palms were used to welcome kings. Now, palms serve as sacramentals and some are burned to be used as the ashes for next year's Ash Wednesday.


Passover is one of the Jewish religion's most sacred and widely observed holidays. In Judaism, Passover commemorates the story of the Israelites' departure from ancient Egypt. Passover begins at sunset tonight. Happy Passover to all who are celebrating.


Thank you, Bay Village Tree Conservancy and Bartlett Tree, for stopping by Normandy earlier this week to help students measure trees to determine their ages. The oldest tree found was a white oak, just like in Lucy's Lab from One School One Book, and it's 171 years old!
