Every year, schools across the country celebrate Start With Hello Week—a week to make a better effort at being friendly, meeting new people, and helping everyone feel like they belong. It’s all about Respecting Our Community with Kindness, Empathy, and Tolerance.
We will celebrate these values with a Spirit Week and other activities next week. On Monday, the theme is “Hey Day”! We hope you’ll plan your best cowboy or western gear and say “hey” to someone new—because even a simple “hey” can make a big difference. So bring out those cowboy hats, denim, boots, and bandanas! Stay tuned for other theme days as well as a fun activity to end the week!
Attention all Power of the Pen Members: This week's writing meeting will be on Thursday after school from 3:00 - 4:00 in Mrs. Goldberg's classroom. We will be meeting on Thursday instead of Friday because students don't have school this Friday. We understand there will be some members who cannot make this meeting (especially Honors Orchestra members), and that is okay. Please just let Mrs. Goldberg or Mr. Barberic know if you cannot attend this week.

Attention all students - anyone interested in being part of a group that shares ideas about faith and prays together, please join us for PRAYER GROUP! We will meet every Monday after school in the library from 3 - 3:30. Everyone is welcome!
To all Seventh and Eighth graders interested in joining Rocket Rowdies: See Mr. Caddey or Mrs. Russell to get your permission slip to attend the September 24 girls' volleyball games at Rocky River. Buses will leave at 4:15 and return by 7:15. Only the first 50 students who turn in permission slips will be eligible to attend.
Sports Report:
The 8th-grade Lady Rockets have dominated their last few games, beating Lakewood Garfield on Tuesday and Parma Hillside yesterday, both in 2 games. Stat leaders for the past 2 games are as follows: Norah Barnes with 9 aces and Evie Miller and Eleanor Alten, each with 7. Evie Miller and Caroline Scanlan, both with 6 kills, followed by Hattie Kirkland with 4. Morgan Walsh with 7 digs, followed by Mallory Ropelewski with 3. Come out and support your Lady Rockets today as they take on Parma Shiloh at home. 8th grade starts at 4:45!
The 7th-grade volleyball team improved its record to 5-4 last night with a win over Hillside. Leading her way across the stat sheet was Vivian Boyle with 5 aces,2 kills, and 2 blocks. 13 total other serving aces came from Rose Benko, Sidney Elek, Lily Racketa, and Alice Fanter. Support the team tonight at home vs Shiloh!
The Shoremen managed to stave off the Wolfpack in yesterday’s war on the shore. The might pack battled for 4 quarters and came up short in the 4th, allowing the air raid to break through the defense and end the game. The final score was 6 to 13. The boys look forward to the road trip ahead vs the Buckeye Bucks. Great effort and good luck next week. Go Rockets
