Two Bay Village Schools Destination Imagination (DI) Teams Receive Bids to Global Finals Competition
Westerly Elementary School fourth-grade team and Bay Middle School sixth-grade team invited to continue their DI journey in Kansas City, MO this May.
(Bay Village, OH) Bay Village City School District is proud to announce that two of the district’s 10 Destination Imagination teams that participated at the State level earlier this month have received bids to Global Finals, Destination Imagination’s national culminating competition.
Westerly Elementary School’s fourth-grade team, the Tiny Exploding Kiwis, took 3rd place in the Elementary Technical Challenge category, and Bay Middle School’s sixth-grade team, Drama Squad, won 1st in the Middle Level Fine Arts category. As a result of this success, both teams earned a bid to Global Finals in Kansas City, Missouri this May.
Student Names for each team, listed alpha order, and then team managers:
Tiny Exploding Kiwis (fourth grade) – Norah Cox, Nora McNamara, Samantha Nowell, Elle Pawlowski, Eliza Randel, Akshay Ratani, Bobby Siebert, and Team Managers Marissa Siebert and Jason Randel.
Drama Squad (sixth grade) – Alice Fanter, Lucy Frank, Emily Kehoe, Annabelle Ligman, Sophia McCall, Maggie Thanos, and Team Managers Courtney Thanos and Heather Fanter.
“I'm so excited for these kids; they definitely earned this opportunity with team work, creativity and brain power,” said Leigh Ann Spratt, coordinator of the Bay Village Schools Destination Imagination programming. “These teams will remember this season for the rest of their lives.”
