BMS Announcements:

Attention BMS students- do you want to get out of school early? Are you interested in helping out your community? Does serving others and your community make you feel good? Then the Great BMS Rake Out is the event for you.

On November 21st, from 1-3:00 pm, we will have the opportunity to rake the yards of homes in Bay. These are homes of older adults that need our help!

You will need to find a group, no more than 3-6 people. If you want to have more than six people, then you will need to find another chaperone. Second, find a chaperone. Chaperones can be your parents OR teachers. Then, please make sure that your parents/guardians fill out the permission slip form and the chaperone form that was sent to them via email.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with Ms. Flamos in the 7th-grade hallway.

Last month, we held our Pumpkin Book Contest, and we are pleased to announce the winners of the BMS contest!   In the "Most Creative" category, our winner was Audrey Winton with her Wizard of Oz-inspired lion pumpkin.  The winner of our second category, which was the Closest Book and Character Adaptation, was Jonalee Vanek and her Scream pumpkin.  And the winner of our third category, Silliest, was Grace Boggess with The Lorax. Congratulations!! Thank you to everyone who participated. The pumpkins were outstanding this year!

Additionally, next week marks the start of our book fair!  Sign up, come down, and browse through our selection of books, posters, and gadgets. Hope to see you.   Like a good library, the book fair is here.

Attention all seventh and eighth-grade choir students: Please be sure to check in with your second-period teacher and then come down to the cafeteria for today’s trip to Baldwin Wallace.

Sports Report:

Congrats to the 8th Grade Lady Rockets as they claimed another victory this season yesterday with a 41-11 win against Rocky River. The scoring was well-distributed, with seven different players contributing to the team's 41 points, while everyone played great defense. This was highlighted by a very successful full-court press that confused their opponent and led to many easy baskets. Scoring for the Rockets were:...Laney with 11 points, Maya (8), Abby (8), Hannah, Amelia, and Raquel with 4 each, and Kensie adding a basket as well. The team also knocked down (3) 3-pointers as the Choo Choo chants echoed throughout the gym. Finally, let's not forget Milam, who continues to be the team's #1 fan by supporting her teammates on the sideline as she recovers from an injury.

Congratulations also go out to the 7th Grade Girls Basketball Team, who won their 3rd game in a row with a massive 41-6 victory, showcasing a truly dominating performance against Rocky River. The tough-to-handle "Animal Press" was highly effective in the first half, leading to many easy layups. On the offensive end, a fast-paced offense and plenty of unselfish play led to several easy transition baskets throughout the game, with six players scoring. This was a huge win where teamwork, defense, and a fast-paced offense all clicked really well. Scoring for the Rockets was Avery with 14 points, Heidi (12), Reese (8), Emma (4), Morgan (2), and Ava chipping in a free throw. Both teams will be back at home next Thursday against Greenbrier.

Let’s remember to RESPECT OUR COMMUNITY with KINDNESS, EMPATHY, and TOLERANCE.

Show your ROCKET PRIDE !!!
