BMS Announcements:

Congratulations, BMS, on yesterday's record-setting day of the Bike to School Challenge. That’s right, for the first time in many years, we had over 400 riders. 427 to be exact. That is nearly 60% of the entire school. What an accomplishment.

If you’ve ridden your bike to school every day this week, you’ve just completed your first ride card. Please remember to write your name and grade on the back of the card and submit it to the Bike to School Box located outside during the morning or near the Main Office.

Remember, each ride card you complete is another raffle ticket used to possibly win all sorts of prizes at the Bike To School Assembly on May 23. Also, anyone wearing a helmet for those first 4 consecutive days has also earned themselves a bonus card, giving them another chance to win.

Today, we thank Bay Provisions for providing a free lemonade to all our riders. The coupon is only valid from Thursday to Saturday, so you can take advantage of this great offer soon. We have also given away 15 bonus coupons this morning as well. That’s right. If, by chance, your Bay Provisions coupon has an emoji stamp on the back, you will be the winner of an additional prize as well. Stop by Bay Provisions to claim your prize.

It’s been a great first week of the Bike to School Challenge, and there are many more great prizes to come in the next two weeks. Just remember to walk your bike on school property and to stay off the athletic fields. Four days down, eleven to go. Keep biking, everyone. We’ve had an amazing number of riders so far.

Attention, all Power of the Pen Members:

This week's meeting will be a sharing meeting, so bring a story to share!

We will also be picking our stories for this year's magazine.

Please see Mrs. Goldberg or Mr. Barberic if you can't make it.

See you Friday!

Attention to all current 6th and 7th graders interested in trying out for volleyball next year: There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, May 13, right after school in Coach Murawski's room (room 202). Important information will be discussed, including the summer schedule and tryout dates. If you cannot attend the meeting, please stop by Coach Murawski's room to pick up the forms that were passed out.

Next Friday, May 16th, we have three things coming together for one spectacular night.....Band, Choir, and Books!  Please come and support BMS Library, Jazz Band, and our Ensemble Choir at the Barnes & Noble Bookfair!  Performances will be upstairs at Barnes & Noble at 6:00 pm for the chamber choir and 7:00 pm for the Jazz Band.  ALL purchases in the store that day and evening will benefit new books we can purchase for our own middle school library.  We will have bar codes available to scan at the store and codes for online purchases at BN.com/bookfairs in our library.  Thank you so much!
