BMS Announcements

Attention yearbook members: Thursday's meeting is canceled. Repeat.  See you next Thursday. 

Attention all Power of the Pen members: due to parent / teacher conferences, there will be no meeting this week. See you next Thursday! 

Congratulations to the following individuals and teams for being crowned "Champions" last Thursday during the 5th Annual Punkin Chunkin event held at Cahoon Park. 

In the Trebuchet Division, team Pumpkin Heads pulled out the victory on their final shot with a toss of 100 yards. Members included Kyle, Parker and John

In the Catapult Division, it was the Broken Pumpkins taking home the gold medal  with a toss of 34 yards. That team was made up of Reece, Charlie and Harry

In the slingshots division, the Pumpkin Crushers outshot the other 19 slingshots with a launch of 154 yards on their final attempt, just falling 11 yards short of last year's BMS Record Holding Champions - The Bay Hot Dawgz. Team members this year were: Blaire, Maeve, Morgan, and Kate.

Finally, in the Human Pumpkin Toss, it was Cade Cikra setting a new BMS record with a throw of 56 yards and Kate Ford with a toss of 42 yards.  

The Team Spirit Award went to two teams

1. The Deathly Hallows, who sported an amazing Harry Potter theme, was the first winner. Team members included Kaitlyn, Audrey, Kinsley, Maddie, Marin, Amelia and Paige. 

2. The Pumpkin Spice Launchas was the 2nd winning group showcasing some wonderful Starbucks attire. That team was composed of Lottie, Lane, Piper, Hannah, Emma, Evie, and Nina

Best Decorative Device (2 Teams Won)

1. "The Barbies" made by  Avery, Emilia, Mackenzie, Grace, Kennedy, Claire, Juliet and Mia. 

2. "The Crib," created by Katherine

In the end, there were 34 devices were created and over 130 6th-grade students participated in the event. What a great day it truly was. Get ready, 5th graders, your Pumpkin launching time is coming up next October.
