BMS Announcements

Attention all you superstar sellers! Today is the last day to register and send those 12 emails. Don’t miss your chance to ride the Kona Ice Truck wave. And, oh my, if you sell 15 items, you can bring a friend to the bowling party. Double the fun, double the strikes.

We are off to a great start for our fall fundraiser! The fifth grade is in the overall lead. Our current block leaders to win a pig for the pig race are:

5th:

Ms. Lion, but Ms. Woos is close behind

Ms. Kralic - dominating the 5th grade right now

6th:

Mr. Illenberger

Ms. Gilmore

7th:

Ms. Gerhan/Stannert

Ms. Ray

8th:

Mr. Payne

Ms. Bruesewtiz, but Ms. Sheehan is only behind by $1.99.  Can they catch up?

Still, lots of time to send those emails and see who will win a pig for the pig race!

Attention 6th, 7th, and 8th graders interested in joining the yearbook club. Our first meeting is today, September 7th, from 3:00 - 3:30 in Mrs. Abdul’s room.

Are you interested in helping people in your community? Are you in grades 5 through 8? Well, then, Builders Club is the club for you! Come check us out next Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the library to learn more about how joining Builders Club will help build your character.

Chess Club will begin Friday, September 22nd at 2:55 pm in room 138 (Mr. Kevesdy’s room in the 6th grade hallway).

All students in grades 5 through 8 are welcome.

Stop by Mr. K’s room after school any day this week to get a permission slip.

The slip must be filled out by a parent and brought to the first meeting.

Sports Report:

Last night the 7th grade volleyball team lost in two sets dropping their record to 4-3.  Set one was very back and forth, but ultimately the number of missed serves was the girls' demise.  The score of set one was 20-25.  The following girls had kills in the first set:  Rachel Kraft and Audrey Weingart each with 2, and Riley Somerville, Sawyer Kerns, and Claire Filiatraut each had one.

Set two's score was 16-25.  Although the score looked a bit lopsided, the girls had some great rallies and showed some true grit!

Next week, Bay has all three games at home on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday!

Come and cheer the girls on!!

The 8th-grade girls volleyball team beat an excellent Westlake team 25-12 and 25-21. Stella Turall was unstoppable in the front row with a season-high 9 kills. Payton Masterson added 2 kills and 3 aces to seal the win. The Rockets will be home next Monday vs. Greenbriar.
