Attention 8th Graders! Town Council will have its first meeting on Wednesday, August 30th in Ms. Acosta's room during 8th grade lunch. Please come and join Ms. Acosta and Mr. Kralik to plan some great events for your grade this year!

A special congratulations to our very own Mrs. Brajdic, whose son Michael has been inducted into the Bay High School Athletic Hall of Fame.  Michael will also be recognized at tonight's varsity football game.

During his time as an athlete at Bay High School Michael was a two-time Cross Country State Champion, a track State Champion in the 3200 meter, and earned several other awards as a runner.  All the while, Michael did it the Rocket Way, putting school first and having a positive impact on others.  Congratulations to the Brajdic family and Go Rockets!

Sports Report

The 8th-grade girls volleyball team won in 3 against the Bucks of Buckeye last night. Stella Turall couldn't be stopped, contributing 5 aces and 5 kills. Morgan Meade ran the court, racking up multiple assists and serving 5 aces. Sloane Kerber, Ruby Render, Reese Stanley, and Payton Masterson also put up multiple kills to help us win the game! Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the Rockets!

In last night's first home game, the Lady Rockets followed in the footsteps of their 8th-grade bigs by defeating Buckeye in two out of three games with scores of 21-25, 25-8, and 25-21.  In game one, Abby Cronin served for 10 straight points, while game two had Rachel Kraft and Riley Somerville each serving for 6 points, and Lauren Vecchio added 4 points and 1 ace.  The final game was back and forth but the team held it together in the end.  Bridget McAlea had strong serves adding 9 straight points while Elizabeth Dorton and Audrey Weingart had 3 and 4 points respectively!

Smart play at the net was executed by Sawyer Kerns, while excellent digs were picked up by Lauren Vecchio.

The Rockets are on the road for the next two weeks!

Keep that winning streak alive!  Go Rockets!
