BMS Announcements

Attention Power of the Pen.  We will meet this Friday after school in Mrs. Goldberg's room.  This will be a sharing meeting.  Please bring a past story to share or check google classroom for optional prompts that may interest you.  See you Friday!

The Bay Soccer Club is offering referee training for students interested in being a referee for the Spring Rec Soccer Season.  Current 7th Graders through HS Seniors are eligible to be referees.  Referees must be trained and pass a test every 2 years.  If you attended the training last year (Spring 2022) you do not need to be trained again, if you are new to reffing you must attend training.  Once you are trained, you will be able to provide your availability for each game. New referees are paid $10 per game.  Experienced refs are paid based on their grade/experience.

Because only new refs must be trained, we will try to do the majority of training on one day - Saturday March 11 from 10-11am.  Training will be at the Bay Village Police Station Community Room.  If you are interested in being a referee please try to make this training.  If you want to ref and can't attend on March 11, email bayreferee@baysoccer.org.

Attention Golf Fans:  FREE GOLF...FREE GOLF!  Eighth graders interested in playing high school golf, there will be an informational meeting Thursday, February 23rd during lunch.  Coach Manderine will discuss the expectations and try-out process for the high school golf team.   Go Rockets!

Sports Report

The 8th-grade girls basketball team beat the visiting North Olmsted Eagles last night 40-26.

The Rockets led at the half 16-9 and that was as close as the Eagles would get. The ladies scored 24 second-half points by passing the ball and running the floor. The Lady Rockets flashed their stingy D and made it tough on the Lady Eagles all game. The unselfish brand of basketball this team plays on a daily basis is fun to watch and coach!

Come out and watch the 9 and 2 Rockets take on Westlake on Thursday.

Go Rockets!!

Congratulations to Max Prahl on coming in 2nd place over the weekend at the Ohio State Wrestling Championships.

The 2023 AAU 14 & Under Indoor National Championships took place at Eastern Michigan University this past weekend. Over 1,000 athletes traveled to Bowen Field House from all over the country. Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, Wisconsin, and as far as Colorado and California. This event allowed 14 and under-age divisions a chance to earn All-American status.

Chase Zastudil jumped 4'8", and took 1st place at the AAU National Indoor Championships, earning the title, All American! Congrats Chase!
