Memorial Day, formerly Decoration Day, started being observed after the Civil War. It became an official federal holiday in 1971. Memorial Day is observed the last Monday of May, and is an opportunity to honor military personnel who died while serving in the U.S. military.

Last week our district rallied around Thirst Project to raise more than $17K, nearly enough to fund 1 ½ freshwater wells! Thank you to all the students, staff and residents who contributed to and supported this initiative to end the global water crisis, especially BHS Key Club.
