Normandy first-grade students in Mrs. Jennings' art class learn about Japanese artist Takashi Murakami.

September 11th, Patriot Day, honors the memory of the nearly 3,000 innocent victims who died in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. This day is dedicated to remembering those who died and the first responders who risked their own lives to save others. We will never forget.

Last week, Key Club members made 230 peanut butter & jelly sandwiches for Feeding Souls, a ministry that provides meals to the homeless in Cleveland. Key Club will continue this service project throughout the school year.

Not all heroes wear capes, and that saying holds true with the many active grandparents we have involved with the district. Grandparents inspire, mentor and shape the future of younger generations. Do something grand today and celebrate all the grands on Grandparents Day!
